Hot Tire Pickup and the 115 Degree St. George Garage
Most failed floors we get called out to tear up trace back to heat. A car comes home from a summer afternoon on Bluff Street with tires hot enough to soften a weak film, then sits on it all night. By September the coating has lifted in two neat stripes. That is hot tire pickup, and it is the single most common repair we see in town.
The fix is prep, not more product. We diamond grind the slab so the coating bonds into open concrete instead of sitting on a slick trowel finish, then build the system thick enough to carry the load. Every garage epoxy coating we do gets a UV-stable topcoat, so a door left open all afternoon does not turn the floor amber by next summer.
